The gap

Most games vanish the moment they end

Outside the professional game, almost no basketball is measured. The footage sits on a phone, the stats live in someone’s memory, and by the next practice the detail is gone. HoopSights turns that recording into a full box score, shot data and a highlight reel, so the game is still there when you need it.
Picture a close game on Saturday. The coach watched all of it and still can’t say for certain who scored in the fourth quarter, or how many second-chance points came off the offensive glass. A parent asks why their daughter sat the final three minutes, and the honest answer is a shrug. A player wants one clean clip to send a college, and it doesn’t exist. None of that is a coaching failure. It is what happens when the only record of a game is memory.
The usual fixes don’t reach this level. Manual stat-keeping means a volunteer with a clipboard, and those numbers are wrong by halftime. The institutional tools that do this well were built for funded programs: they often want installed cameras, a filming crew, or a contract priced for a department, none of which a school team or a local club has.
So the work either doesn’t get done, or it eats a coach’s evening. And the cost compounds quietly. Players don’t get the feedback that would help them improve, recruiters never see the kid who deserves a look, and the program has no record to show an administrator at budget time. A season of basketball gets played, and almost none of it is kept.
HoopSights closes that gap by reading the footage you already capture and doing the counting for you, so the game outlasts the final whistle.

Capabilities

What HoopSights reads in your footage

HoopSights runs your game frame by frame and produces team and player analytics for both sides: a full box score, shot data mapped to 1, 2 and 3-point zones, the action set it recognizes today, and a highlight reel — all from footage you already have.
The analysis is grouped into a few capabilities. Each one runs automatically off the same upload, and none of them asks you to mark up the video first.

/01

Detection stack

Every frame is scanned for the players, the ball, jersey numbers and the court itself. This is the foundation the rest of the analysis stands on, and it runs without anyone marking up the video.

/02

Player classification by jersey color

Players are split into teams by the color they wear, on any color combination, with no per-team setup and no retraining. You don’t label a single player. This is the part that lets HoopSights work on a team it has never seen, straight out of the upload. Split players by jersey color.

/03

Court and shot value

The court is segmented into 1, 2 and 3-point zones, so every shot carries its value automatically. Nobody marks the arc by hand, and the shot data is consistent from game to game. 1, 2 and 3-point zones.

/04

Action recognition

Today it tags rebounds, assists, shots, blocks, steals, and made or missed goals. More actions, such as turnovers, fouls and screens, are on the roadmap. We tell you plainly what ships today and what doesn’t, rather than implying everything is live. The action set it tags.

/05

Both-team box scores

You get full box scores and per-player lines for both teams in the game, not only your own. That is what makes the output usable for scouting and post-game review, not just a personal stat sheet. Full box scores.

Outputs

A highlight reel, a box score as an image and a CSV [VERIFY], a shot chart, a coach summary, and per-player reports written for players and parents. Each one is built to be viewed on a phone, shared in a team chat, or exported into whatever you already use. The point is artifacts you can hand to someone, not a dashboard you have to interpret alone.

Reasons to choose

Why teams choose us

There are already powerful basketball tools. Most of them are built for institutions with budgets, hardware and staff, and for those programs they’re worth every rupee. HoopSights is built for everyone below that line, and it gets there by making a few deliberate choices rather than by being a cheaper copy of something else.

Works on footage you already have

No installed cameras, no crew, no game-day sensors. If you filmed it, HoopSights can read it.

Nothing to set up per team

It classifies players by jersey color on any colors, so there is nothing to train and nobody to tag before you get value.

Both teams, every player

You get the opponent’s numbers too, which is what makes scouting and post-game review actually worth doing.

Shots carry value on their own

1, 2 and 3-point zones come from the court itself, so shot data is right without anyone marking the floor.

Honest about what it does

We publish the action set it tags today and what is still on the roadmap, and we measure accuracy rather than asserting it.

Six segments

Built for the programs the big tools price out

HoopSights serves coaches, players and parents, tournament organizers, and college, school and club programs — anyone with game footage and no analytics budget to match.

The thread across all of them is the same: a lot of basketball gets played at this level, and almost none of it gets measured. Each page below speaks to that group’s version of the problem, the outputs they get, and how the pricing works for them.

Honest trade-offs

Three ways to get basketball stats

Most programs pick one of three options. Here is the honest trade-off, by category rather than by brand.
The short version: if you have a budget and infrastructure, the institutional tools are genuinely excellent and worth it. If you don’t, your real choice has been a clipboard or nothing. HoopSights is built for that second group — the analytics you couldn’t justify before, from the footage you already have.

Real questions

Questions coaches, players and organizers ask

How accurate are the stats?
We measure accuracy against hand-labeled games and publish the method rather than a marketing number [VERIFY figure]. The honest part: hard plays are where any system struggles — heavy traffic in the paint, poor lighting, an extreme angle, or both teams in similar colors — and we’d rather tell you that than pretend it doesn’t happen. The useful comparison isn’t against a perfect human scorer; it’s against what you have now, which for most programs is a tired volunteer or nothing at all. Better footage gives better stats, and that part is in your hands.
Usually, yes. If a single steady angle sees the whole court at a reasonable resolution, HoopSights can read it. You don’t need a special camera; a phone on a tripod is the common case. The full recording guidance is on the how-it-works page.
Analysis runs after the game, not live, so results come back after you upload rather than during play [VERIFY turnaround]. You film, you upload, and the box score, shot data and highlights follow. This is the deliberate trade-off behind the price: by working post-game on footage you already have, HoopSights skips the cameras, crews and live infrastructure that make in-game systems so expensive.
Today it tags rebounds, assists, shots, blocks, steals, and made or missed goals, with full box scores for both teams. More actions, such as turnovers, fouls and screens, are on the roadmap, and we don’t claim them until they ship. We’d rather you adopt HoopSights for what it does now than be talked into a promise. You’ll always know which is which.
Upload the game and a few details. There is no tagging, no player labeling, and nothing to configure per team. The classification by jersey color is what removes the setup step that other tools leave on your plate.
Player profiles are consent-based and default to private for minors. The privacy and data page sets out how footage and data are stored and who can see what.
It works on recorded 5-a-side game footage across college, school and club levels. Support for 3×3 and other formats is [VERIFY]. If you’re unsure whether your level fits, send us a game and we’ll tell you straight.
Yes. You get highlight reels to share, a box score as an image and a CSV [VERIFY], shot charts, and player profiles built to send to recruiters or family. The output is meant to be used, not just looked at.
